Post-Offer Employment Testing in Omaha

Integrated Care provides Post-Offer Employment Testing (POET), also called Post-Offer Pre-Employment Testing (POPE), to help employers determine whether a candidate can safely perform the essential physical functions of a job after a conditional offer has been made.

Why employers use POET testing

Employer setup requirements

Before testing begins, the employer should provide:

• A current job description

• The essential physical functions of the position

• Lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, positional, and endurance requirements

• Any job-specific tasks or equipment that should be represented

• Clear criteria for determining successful completion

What testing may include

Testing is customized to the position and may include lifting from floor to waist or shoulder height, carrying, pushing, pulling, reaching, climbing, squatting, kneeling, balance, mobility, grip, and job-specific endurance. A standardized Physical Capacity Profile test may also be appropriate for some positions.

Candidate experience

The evaluator explains the testing process and monitors movement, symptoms, safety, and performance. Candidates should wear comfortable clothing and secure footwear suitable for physical activity. Testing is scheduled after the employer has made a conditional offer and provided authorization.

Results

Integrated Care reports the candidate’s demonstrated performance in relation to the employer-provided job requirements and testing criteria. Results are shared securely with the authorized employer contact.
