DOT and Non-DOT Random-Pool Management
Integrated Care helps employers administer organized random drug and alcohol testing programs. We support DOT-regulated programs and employer-directed non-DOT pools, with reliable selections, notifications, testing coordination, and program records.
DOT random-pool options
• Consortium pools for eligible owner-operators and smaller employers
• Stand-alone company pools for employers that want selections made only from their own covered workforce
• Drug and alcohol selections based on the applicable DOT agency requirements
• Collection-site coordination and result tracking
• Program summaries and records to support employer oversight
Non-DOT random programs
A non-DOT random program is based on the employer’s written policy and applicable employment requirements. Integrated Care can build a selection schedule, administer unbiased selections, coordinate testing, and maintain program documentation according to the employer’s instructions.
Program administration may include
• Initial enrollment and covered-employee roster setup
• Periodic random selections
• Confidential notification to the employer’s designated representative
• Test scheduling and collection-site coordination
• Drug and breath-alcohol testing
• Tracking of completed, pending, and canceled events
• Periodic selection and completion reports
• Assistance updating employee rosters throughout the year
Employer responsibilities
The employer remains responsible for:
• Naming a Designated Employer Representative
• Promptly reporting new hires, terminations, and eligibility changes
• Maintaining an appropriate written policy
• Sending selected employees for testing within the required timeframe
• Taking required action following positive results, refusals, or other violations
• Meeting the rules of the applicable DOT agency or non-DOT program
Starting a random pool
To prepare a proposal, we will need the company name, DOT agency if applicable, number of covered employees, current pool status, preferred collection locations, and the contact information for the Designated Employer Representative.
