Early Symptom Intervention for Omaha Employers
Integrated Care’s Early Symptom Intervention (ESI) program gives employees a prompt way to report and address mild musculoskeletal discomfort before it becomes more limiting. ESI can be provided at the clinic or through a scheduled on-site employer program.
ESI is appropriate for
• Mild muscle or joint soreness
• Fatigue related to repetitive or physically demanding work
• Early discomfort that has not required medical treatment
• Questions about body mechanics, positioning, or task performance
• Employees who would benefit from brief education and self-management guidance
An ESI visit may include
• A brief discussion of symptoms and work activities
• Observation of movement and task-related concerns
• Education about posture, body mechanics, and pacing
• Gentle stretching or mobility guidance
• Recommendations for simple self-care
• Identification of workplace factors that may contribute to discomfort
• Follow-up monitoring according to the employer’s program
On-site ESI programs
Scheduled on-site visits make it easier for employees to report concerns early. Integrated Care can coordinate recurring availability, employee access procedures, documentation expectations, employer communication, and escalation protocols.
In-clinic ESI
Employers may also refer employees to Integrated Care for an in-clinic ESI visit. Please contact the clinic before sending an employee so we can confirm authorization, program expectations, and billing.
When ESI is not appropriate
ESI is not a substitute for medical evaluation, diagnosis, emergency care, or treatment of an established injury. Employees should be directed for appropriate medical care when symptoms follow a specific injury, are severe or worsening, include significant swelling, weakness, numbness, loss of function, or other concerning signs. Call 911 for a life-threatening emergency.
Escalation and communication
If the employee’s condition appears outside the ESI program’s scope, Integrated Care will recommend appropriate next steps according to the employer’s established process. Employer communication is limited to authorized program information and handled according to applicable confidentiality requirements.
Program setup and pricing
Contact us to discuss in-clinic or on-site ESI services, employee eligibility, referral procedures, reporting expectations, scheduling frequency, and pricing. This program works best when employers define a consistent process for early reporting and escalation.
